The OWSC is simulated using AMAZON-SC, a numerical code developed
within the Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Flow Analysis
(CMMFA). The solves the incompressible Euler equations in both
air and water and the free surface is captured as a discontinuity
in the density field. This allows wave breaking to be simulated.
The computational mesh is generated by using the Cartesian cut
cell technique which automatically produces a boundary conforming
mesh and enables the moving paddle to be simulated. The method
extends naturally to 3D. Some preliminary results have been
calculated for a simulation of a dam
break hitting a box in 3D.
An example copy of the AMAZON-SC code (compiled using Intel Fortran Compiler
for Linux) along with input data files for wave generation in a wave tank using
a moving paddle can be downloaded.
